Proof That God Exists

There is skepticism in our society about the existence of God. Some people outright deny His existence while others are merely unconvinced. Even many who claim to believe in God have some doubts. One of the ways we know God exists is the historical documents which testify to the existence of God. Many centuries ago God intervened in human affairs and performed miracles to prove His existence. His miracles were performed in front of dozens and hundreds of eyewitnesses, these appearances and miracles were written down, and we have these written documents today, meaning we have historical documents which testify to the fact God exists. The book of Exodus is one of these historical documents which testify to the existence of God. In this video we’re going to look at some examples from Exodus of God performing miracles in front of eyewitnesses in order to prove His existence.

Text

Ex. 7:8 Now the LORD[Yahweh] spoke to Moses and Aaron, saying,
Ex. 7:9 “When Pharaoh speaks to you[Moses], saying, ‘Work a miracle,’ then you shall say to Aaron, ‘Take your[Aaron] staff and throw it down before Pharaoh, that it may become a serpent.’”
Ex. 7:10 So Moses and Aaron came to Pharaoh, and thus they did just as the LORD[Yahweh] had commanded; and Aaron threw his staff down before Pharaoh and his servants, and it became a serpent.
Ex. 7:11 Then Pharaoh also called for the wise men and the sorcerers, and they also, the magicians of Egypt, did the same with their secret arts.
Ex. 7:12 For each one[magician] threw down his staff and they turned into serpents. But Aaron’s staff swallowed up their staffs.
Ex. 7:13 Yet Pharaoh’s heart was hardened, and he did not listen to them, as the LORD[Yahweh] had said.

Major Break

Ex. 7:14 Then the LORD[Yahweh] said to Moses, “Pharaoh’s heart is stubborn; he refuses to let the people go.
Ex. 7:15 “Go to Pharaoh in the morning as he is going out to the water, and station yourself[Moses] to meet him[Pharaoh] on the bank of the Nile; and you[Moses] shall take in your hand the staff that was turned into a serpent.
Ex. 7:16 “You[Moses] shall say to him[Pharaoh], ‘The LORD[Yahweh], the God of the Hebrews, sent me to you, saying, “Let My[Yahweh] people go, that they may serve Me in the wilderness. But behold, you[Pharaoh] have not listened until now.”
Ex. 7:17 ‘Thus says the LORD[Yahweh], “By this you[Pharaoh] shall know that I am the LORD[Yahweh]: behold, I[Moses] will strike the water that is in the Nile with the staff that is in my hand, and it will be turned to blood.
Ex. 7:18 “The fish that are in the Nile will die, and the Nile will become foul, and the Egyptians will find difficulty in drinking water from the Nile.”’”

Ex. 7:19 Then the LORD[Yahweh] said to Moses, “Say to Aaron, ‘Take your staff and stretch out your hand over the waters of Egypt, over their rivers, over their streams, and over their pools, and over all their reservoirs of water, that they may become blood; and there will be blood throughout all the land of Egypt, both in vessels of wood and in vessels of stone.’”
Ex. 7:20 So Moses and Aaron did even as the LORD[Yahweh] had commanded. And he[Moses or Aaron] lifted up the staff and struck the water that was in the Nile, in the sight of Pharaoh and in the sight of his servants, and all the water that was in the Nile was turned to blood.
Ex. 7:21 The fish that were in the Nile died, and the Nile became foul, so that the Egyptians could not drink water from the Nile. And the blood was through all the land of Egypt.
Ex. 7:22 But the magicians of Egypt did the same with their secret arts; and Pharaoh’s heart was hardened, and he did not listen to them[Moses and Aaron], as the LORD[Yahweh] had said.
Ex. 7:23 Then Pharaoh turned and went into his house with no concern even for this.
Ex. 7:24 So all the Egyptians dug around the Nile for water to drink, for they could not drink of the water of the Nile.
Ex. 7:25 Seven days passed after the LORD[Yahweh] had struck the Nile.

Major Break

Ex. 8:1 Then the LORD[Yahweh] said to Moses, “Go to Pharaoh and say to him, ‘Thus says the LORD, “Let My people[Israelites] go, that they may serve Me.
Ex. 8:2 “But if you[Pharaoh] refuse to let them[Israelites] go, behold, I[Yahweh] will smite your whole territory with frogs.
Ex. 8:3 “The Nile will swarm with frogs, which will come up and go into your[Pharaoh] house and into your bedroom and on your bed, and into the houses of your servants and on your people, and into your ovens and into your kneading bowls.
Ex. 8:4 “So the frogs will come up on you[Pharaoh] and your people[Egyptians] and all your servants.”’”
Ex. 8:5 Then the LORD[Yahweh] said to Moses, “Say to Aaron, ‘Stretch out your hand with your staff over the rivers, over the streams and over the pools, and make frogs come up on the land of Egypt.’”
Ex. 8:6 So Aaron stretched out his hand over the waters of Egypt, and the frogs came up and covered the land of Egypt.
Ex. 8:7 The magicians did the same with their secret arts, making frogs come up on the land of Egypt.
Ex. 8:8 Then Pharaoh called for Moses and Aaron and said, “Entreat the LORD[Yahweh] that He remove the frogs from me and from my people[Egyptians]; and I will let the people[Israelites] go, that they may sacrifice to the LORD[Yahweh].”
Ex. 8:9 Moses said to Pharaoh, “The honor is yours to tell me: when shall I entreat for you and your servants and your people[Egyptians], that the frogs be destroyed from you and your houses, that they may be left only in the Nile?”
Ex. 8:10 Then he[Pharaoh] said, “Tomorrow.” So he[Moses] said, “May it be according to your word, that you may know that there is no one like the LORD[Yahweh] our God.
Ex. 8:11 “The frogs will depart from you[Pharaoh] and your houses and your servants and your people[Egyptians]; they will be left only in the Nile.”
Ex. 8:12 Then Moses and Aaron went out from Pharaoh, and Moses cried to the LORD[Yahweh] concerning the frogs which He[Yahweh] had inflicted upon Pharaoh.
Ex. 8:13 The LORD[Yahweh] did according to the word of Moses, and the frogs died out of the houses, the courts, and the fields.
Ex. 8:14 So they[Egyptians] piled them[frogs] in heaps, and the land became foul.
Ex. 8:15 But when Pharaoh saw that there was relief, he hardened his heart and did not listen to them[Moses and Aaron], as the LORD[Yahweh] had said.

minor break

Ex. 8:16 Then the LORD[Yahweh] said to Moses, “Say to Aaron, ‘Stretch out your staff and strike the dust of the earth, that it may become gnats through all the land of Egypt.’”
Ex. 8:17 They[Moses and Aaron] did so; and Aaron stretched out his hand with his staff, and struck the dust of the earth, and there were gnats on man and beast. All the dust of the earth became gnats through all the land of Egypt.
Ex. 8:18 The magicians tried with their secret arts to bring forth gnats, but they could not; so there were gnats on man and beast.
Ex. 8:19 Then the magicians said to Pharaoh, “This[gnats] is the finger of God.” But Pharaoh’s heart was hardened, and he did not listen to them, as the LORD[Yahweh] had said.
