Many Christians try to do ministry without offending people, and without saying or doing anything harsh. Likewise, they try to evangelize by making Christianity palatable and emphasizing the benefits of being a Christian. However, notice in Philemon 2 Paul referred to Archippus as a fellow soldier.
Philem. 1 Paul, a prisoner of Christ Jesus, and Timothy our brother, To Philemon our beloved brother and fellow worker, 2 and to Apphia our sister, and to Archippus our fellow soldier, and to the church in your house: 3 Grace to you and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.
Paul looked at himself and Archippus as Christian soldiers. Soldiers engage in warfare. Warfare is harsh and the objective is to defeat the enemy, meaning there are winners and losers. As Christians we are engaged in spiritual warfare. We should not be compromising the truth and trying to make it palatable and politically correct. The objective of evangelism (spiritual warfare) is to defeat the enemies of Christ and persuade people to believe and accept the truth of Christianity.
