Many people doubt Jesus has the authority to tell us how to live. In Biblical times, it was common to anoint those who were given authority. For example, Exodus 29 tells us Aaron was anointed with anointing oil to serve as the High Priest. Acts 10 uses similar language about Jesus. Jesus was anointed; except He was anointed with power. Jesus used His power to heal people and do good. By demonstrating His power, Jesus proved He is God and has authority. Thus, we can be certain Jesus has the authority to tell us how to live.
