Our news media is full of stories about sexual harassment and assault. Amongst the true allegations, one can also find lies and false allegations. Exodus 23 teaches us Yahweh despises false charges and injustice just as much as He hates actual assault. Yahweh warned the Israelites to avoid false witnessing, perverted justice, partiality, and bribes. Likewise, Ephesians tells us to lay aside falsehood and speak truth. These verses reveal Yahweh’s heart and teach us we need to fight false allegations just as much as we need to fight real assault. Learn more in the following video:
Ex. 23:1-3 You shall not bear a false report; do not join your hand with a wicked man to be a malicious witness. You shall not follow the masses in doing evil, nor shall you testify in a dispute so as to turn aside after a multitude in order to pervert justice; nor shall you be partial to a poor man in his dispute.
