We live in an instant gratification society, so if God doesn’t answer our prayer within a day or two, we tend to give up and assume God isn’t going to answer our prayer. The Bible teaches us we should have a different mind-set and Exodus 29 illustrates the correct mentality. In order to consecrate their altar, the Israelites had to do the same thing every day for seven days. After the altar was consecrated, they had to sacrifice two lambs on the altar every day, year after year, and generation after generation. In other words, the Israelites had to do the same thing over and over again. Luke 18 teaches us to have the same mentality about prayer. Jesus taught us to mention our request over and over again without losing hope. This teaches us we should not give up on prayer, even when God waits years to answer our prayer.
